Nollywood actress Princess Chineke has joined the U.S. Army.
She was a beauty queen who represented her state in the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant. Now, she has made a surprising move from wearing a crown to donning a soldier’s uniform.
GistLover reports that she is the first actress from Nollywood to serve in the U.S. Army.
Princess has previously modeled for many commercials, billboards, and runways.
Princess Chineke’s decision to join the military has taken many of her fans by surprise, as they recall her stunning performances on screen.
Her notable works include Battleground, Forever in Me, Last Flight to Abuja, Super Story, Papa Ajasco, Tales of Eve, Ada Mbano, To Love a Sister, Amaonyebuoneye, Give it Up, Masters at War, 2broken, Airline Bases, Mmeso, Royal Maid, Professor Johnbull, and Ay show Skit.
The actress, who was also a former Miss UNIBEN, has shared her enthusiasm for serving her adopted country.
“I love the prestige that comes with the American military,” Princess Chineke said. “As a citizen of this great country that has done so much for me, I feel it’s my turn to give back. God bless America.”
In other news, Nigerian artists 2Baba and Faze recently gained attention for a video of them singing a Plantashun Boiz classic on stage, while their fellow member Blackface was absent.
In the entertaining clip, they performed “Don’t You Know,” a song that first came out in 2000.
During the performance, 2Baba invited Faze to help them take the crowd on a nostalgic journey.
Posting the video on his page, Tunde Ednut wrote in a caption:
