Renowned Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has recently become the center of attention, but not for her acting. Instead, a social media controversy has emerged after an Instagram account, @T20luxury, accused her of carrying a counterfeit Louis Vuitton monogram camera box bag.

The account, known for scrutinizing luxury items, shared a detailed analysis comparing Iyabo’s bag to an authentic Louis Vuitton version. Key discrepancies were highlighted, including inconsistencies in stitching, logo placement, and overall craftsmanship. These observations have fueled discussions about the pressure on Nigerian celebrities to maintain a high-end fashion image.

@T20luxury, recognized for its meticulous evaluations of designer products, asserted that Iyabo’s bag lacked signature elements of genuine Louis Vuitton pieces. According to their findings, the monogram alignment, hardware quality, and fine detailing fell short of the brand’s standards.

This is not the first time the Instagram account has exposed a celebrity for allegedly using counterfeit luxury goods. Previously, it called out musician Kcee for a similar issue. However, Iyabo Ojo’s case has garnered widespread attention due to her influence in Nollywood and significant social media following.

The situation has sparked debates on authenticity in celebrity fashion and the lengths public figures go to maintain their elite status.

T20luxury shared a new post featuring a collage that compares the fake and authentic versions of the LV Camera Box, along with the caption;

“To the doubtful ones, Queen Mother’s LV Camera Box was probably gotten from websites like this by her vendor or stylist. You can see the similarities in the LV Monograms placement. Swipe to the second slide to see the obvious discrepancies from the real one which retails for $8,800 and that’s almost 14M Naira”
