Popular Nigerian content creator, actress, and comedienne Nons Miraj has opened up about her path to financial independence, emphasizing that she built her wealth without relying on any man.

Speaking on a recent podcast, the entertainer, known for her comedic alter ego “Ada Jesus,” reflected on her early days in Nollywood. Despite her passion, the pay was discouraging.

“It was rubbish money; unlike a salary job where you make 70K monthly, they pay you 90K after shooting for three months. It was not worth it,” she said.

Determined to earn more, Nons Miraj began a side hustle, buying perfumes and jewelry from Balogun Market for N3,000 and reselling them for as much as N50,000. She wisely split her profits—half for personal expenses and half for savings.

Although she attracted attention from men, she clarified that none financed her lifestyle.
“Men were coming but not the type you think will sponsor your life. I was in a relationship but not in the sugar daddy vibe,” she added.

Her major breakthrough came when she shifted focus to content creation. As her online popularity soared, so did her earnings.
“I was saving with my mum, I had my own savings, my salon was there, and acting started paying N300K after my social media blew up,” she said.

The turning point came with the launch of her YouTube series, Love Show, and brand endorsements under her comedic persona “Ada Jesus.” These ventures helped her secure her first $20,000.

“I didn’t wait for a man to give me; my pride grew when I started making more money. There’s nothing I couldn’t give myself,” she proudly stated.

Nons Miraj’s journey stands as a powerful testament to grit, creativity, and financial independence in a space where many often assume women need wealthy backers to thrive.
