Singer Joeboy has responded to critics who have described his music as “mid.”
During a recent appearance on the podcast ‘Backstage Banter,’ Joeboy asserted that there is nothing “mid” about his life or career. He emphasized that his achievements at a young age serve as evidence of his commitment and effort, suggesting that those who criticize him may be projecting their own dissatisfaction. Joeboy also challenged the definition of “mid,” proposing that it is merely a trendy term employed to disparage others.
“There is nothing ‘mid’ about my existence. The fact that I have been able to get so far at such a young age in my career and still have my head on my shoulders is not ‘mid’ in any way.
“I also feel like the people criticizing me are generally not happy with life. Because if you’re genuinely happy with your life, you would not pick up your phone and start attacking somebody.
“What exactly is ‘mid’? I think it was just a word that got too popular, and people just started using it,” he said.
