Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has praised Headies for their success despite the loss of Nigerian singers Davido and Burna Boy at the 2024 Grammy Awards.
Despite high expectations, none of the singers received awards for their songs.
Nkechi, on her Instagram page, believes that Nigerians and artists will start appreciating Headies now, as they now know their worth.
She also predicts that American rapper Jay Z will soon receive a Headies award in Lagos.
Nkechi believes that no award platform is too small or not important as long as a group of people acknowledge and reward hard work.
“No award platform is small or not important as long as a group of people come together to acknowledge your hard work and then reward you for that hard work. Take them seriously. Big shout out to Headies. Now Nigerians will know your worth!! Make una dey support una own, Headies sef go nominate Jay Z and Jay Z go fly enter Lagos for Eko Hotel come collect the award. We sef no small”.
She captioned the post with, “Giant of AFRICA. Proudly NIGERIAN. Now @ng_supereagles Make us proud on Wednesday. Return our list mantle. Prayers up for you all”.
