Prince Chibudom Nwuche, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives condemns the killing of Bako Angbashim, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the Ahoada Police Division in the Ahoada-East local government area of Rivers State.
Eze Cassidy Ikegbidi, the suspended traditional ruler of the Igbu-Akoh kingdom in Ahoada-East local government area, was detained by Department of State Security (DSS) agents at the time for possible questioning regarding the killing of the senior police officer.
Recall that last Saturday night, Governor Siminalayi Fubara announced the suspension of Ikegbidi, a former chairman of Ahoada-East local government area, for allowing criminal gangs to seize control of his territory in a statement that he personally signed.
In a statement that was provided to Gistlover in Port Harcourt, Nwuche urged the local populations to help security personnel find Angbashim’s killers.
He praised the deceased DPO as a brave officer who, while serving as the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Ahoada Police Division, quickly brought peace to all of Ekpeyeland.
Nwuche urged the security services and authorities to find the criminals responsible for the heinous act so that they could face the full force of the law.
