NYSC Express Grief over Killing Of Female Corps Member In Kaduna

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has express Grief over the unexpected death of one of its corps members, Joel Grace Chalya KD/23A/4386, who was serving in Kaduna.

In a previous statement, the Kaduna State Police Command had acknowledged the brutal killing of Grace in the state by as unidentified assailants.

According to ASP Mansir Hassan, the Command’s spokesman, Musa Yusuf Garba, the state police commissioner, has ordered a manhunt for the corps member’s killers.

According to information obtained by Gistlover, the young woman was fatally stabbed on Wednesday morning at the Barnawa in the state’s Kaduna South Local Government Area.

The deceased’s friends and classmates from the University of Jos (UNIJOS) expressed their sorrow on Facebook after the tragic incident.

The deceased had joined her fellow corps members for a morning jog following her morning devotion when she was attacked and fatally stabbed by criminals, who also stole her phone, according to a statement issued by the NYSC’s director of press and public relations, Eddy Megwa, late on Thursday.

Megwa bemoaned the terrible incident and pleaded with the populace to assist the security agencies in ensuring the security and safety of all corps members stationed in their respective communities.

The statement read, “Corps members are our children, our sisters and brothers and all Nigerians must protect them.”

He claimed that the plan was working closely with numerous security agencies to identify the criminals responsible for this heinous act and bring them to justice.
