On the occasion of his 80th birthday and book launch, former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan, and Muhammadu Buhari praised King Edmund Maduabebe Daukoru of the Nembe Kingdom in the Bayelsa State.
The eulogies coincided with King Daukoru’s announcement that his kingdom would soon begin the next phase of its development, which would include, among other things, the installation of a gas turbine, integrated farming and fish culture, land reclamation, and a sizable reticulated water system. The Mingi XII said at the book launch and birthday lecture on “The Imperative of Energy Security for Accelerated Rural Development: A Special Case of the Niger Delta Region” in Abuja yesterday, “Just pushing my goodwill a little more.”
In his message of goodwill, Chief Obasanjo said the king had lived a life that was well-fulfilled and that God had been gracious to him in many ways. He also said that the former minister of petroleum resources had shown the way to millions of people and fostered their ability to think positively and creatively.
“Over the years, you have demonstrated extraordinary bravery, leadership, vision, loyalty, and boundless patriotism to your people and your nation, Nigeria. You have embodied love, compassion, hope, affection, discipline, and identification with the common good, said Obasanjo. He claimed that King Daukoru is a well-known royal father in the “crucial oil-bearing South-South zone of the country, you have deployed your good offices to ensure peace in the area, and there is no doubt that your Kingdom, Bayelsa State, and the South-South geopolitical zone, has continuously savored the full benefit of your enviable position as one of the revered elders of the area.”
Jonathan also referred to the former leader of OPEC as a reputable statesman with a distinguished career record of achievement and significant contributions to both the public and private sectors of society. Several Bayelsans and people all over the country, according to Mr. Jonathan, have looked up to Daukoru as a role model who has helped them reach their goals and mentored them to greatness.
“You have shown outstanding leadership qualities outside of your immediate kingdom as a first-class monarch in Bayelsa State. You have consistently advocated for regional development and peace as the Chairman of the South-South Monarch Forum, the speaker said.
Buhari calls the king’s age a milestone bestowed by divine grace, but he is grateful to God Almighty for the blessing. “I ask for more years of health and mental clarity. “.
King Daukoru, according to former head of state Abdulsalami Abubakar, is a complete elder statesman, a philanthropist, and a patriotic Nigerian who made significant contributions to the country’s well-being. He also said that he is definitely a resource for this generation.
According to Abubakar, “HRM has positively impacted many lives while serving as a Minister of State for Energy in Nigeria and other positions he held.”.
According to Mike Oghiadomhe, a former deputy governor of Edo State, Daukoru has come to symbolize “a rare amalgam of quintessential cerebral disposition, diligent fidelity to the best of our traditional institutions, and enduring faith in Almighty God.”. “.
The Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Your Majesty, King Jaja, and Dandeson Douglas Jaja are among the other prominent political and traditional figures present at the event.
