Obaseki Clears The Air Concerning ‘Funds Diversion’ Allegations Against Him

As the Edo Governorship elections draw near, the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki has seen several allegations leveled against him.

Some of these allegations are the bloated contracts and the use of his company, Afrinvest Ltd. to embezzle state funds.

He has finally reacted to these allegations and he made this known through his Special Adviser on Media, Crusoe Osagie.

According to Osagie, all the allegations are feeble attempts to dent Obaseki’s hard-earned reputation. In his submission, he said;

“Edo has been rated highly by the World Bank and other development institutions for her openness and transparency in the allocation of scarce resources, beginning with the process of making her budget, awards of contracts and release of funds to contractors.”
