‘Obazee Has Questionable Character- Northern Forum Warns Tinubu on Obazee’s CBN Report

Concerned Northern Forum (CNF) has forwarded a warning to President Bola Tinubu about the report that Jim Obazee, the special investigator entrusted with examining the operations of the nation’s top bank under its suspended governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele

The Forum cautioned that the President should proceed with caution as he could unintentionally walk across a minefield while wearing a blindfold.

The Forum said that, given his prior behavior, Obazee is unfit to be in charge of such a specialized probe, particularly one that involves finances, in a news release that was signed by its president, Aliyu Muhammad.

Muhammad emphasized that because of Obazee’s dubious background, he is not fit to look into the CBN or any other financial organization.

 “Mr President should heed to the action of firing Jim Obazee by his Predecessor, former President Muhammadu Buhari who is known to despise and fight corruption.

“Yes, CBN should be probed and investigated, but not by an individual with questionable character, integrity and a tone of corruption cases, graft and misuse of public funds himself.

“Therefore, President Bola Tinubu must not use this report, its basis are as compromised as the author of the report. It is one sided, partial and some of it’s recommendations are fatal to the economic wellbeing of Nigeria,” the statement said.
