Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has stirred controversy on social media following a sarcastic remark about Davido’s upcoming album that many fans misunderstood.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, the rapper suggested that Davido’s much-anticipated fifth studio album, 5ive, should be released under Kcee and E-Money’s 5ive Star Music, rather than Davido’s own label, 30BG.

He wrote:
“Davido, I trust your vision and all. But this album is not meant to be released under 30BG.
This album is meant to drop under Kcee and E-Money. I rest my case.”

While the comment was intended as playful sarcasm—implying that Davido’s new project is of “five-star” quality—many fans took it the wrong way, accusing the rapper of downplaying the album or showing disrespect.

Davido’s 5ive is set for release in April under his label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), in partnership with Sony Music. So far, the project has been teased with three singles: “Awuke” featuring YG Marley, “Funds” featuring Odumodublvck and Chike, and “Be There Still.”

Despite the initial backlash, many are now recognizing Odumodublvck’s statement for what it was—a creative nod to the album’s quality and title.
