Men of the So-Safe Corps of Ogun State have stopped four motorcycles transporting 22 sacks of Indian hemp.
Additionally, the corps captured two of the alleged illegal drug sellers at Abule Sikiru, which is located along Igbo-Ora Road in the state’s Abeokuta North Local Government Area.
The Commander of the corps, Soji Ganzallo, dislcosed on Tuesday that, “at about 0230hrs on the 11th of December, 2023, the Oke Ogun Area Command officers of the Corps, while on routine patrol at Abule Sikiru, along Igbo-Ora Road in Abeokuta North Local Government area, spotted four Bajaj motorbikes.”
Three of the aforementioned bicycles were carrying 22 sacks of marijuana, according to Ganzallo, who stated through a statement signed by Moruf Yusuf, the spokesperson for So-Safe Corps. The fourth bike, however, had two more persons on it who were “leading the team and fully armed with varieties of local charms.”
Ganzallo reported that two suspects were captured together with the exhibit and the four motorbikes that were utilized in the crime, while three suspects managed to get away.
He added that “the two apprehended culprits refused to disclose their identity” during interrogation.
It was stated that two of the motorbikes were marked, ABG 041 DY and MEK 071 QC, while the remaining two others were not registered.
“The two apprehended suspects, the exhibit (22 sacks of Marijuana), and the four motorbikes were handed over to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at its State Headquarters in Alamutu, Abeokuta North Local Government Area, for further investigation and likely prosecution,” Ganzallo informed.
