Veteran artist Ahmedu Augustine Obiabo, alias Blackface, has accused YBNL boss Olamide and his signee, Asake, of stealing his tunes.
The former Plantashun Boiz member revealed in the most recent episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast that Olamide, in particular, has jacked multiple songs during his career.
He said, “Olamide and Asake steal songs. Olamide has stolen many songs in his career. He jacked ‘Don’t Stop’ from my song ‘Killa’.”
Blackface also claimed that Wizkid and Burna Boy stole their hit song ‘Ginger’ from him.
He claimed that the song ‘Ginger’ was influenced by his song ‘Twist & Turn.’ According to the veteran singer, other artists not only copied his lyrics but also stole the sounds he created.*
Meanwhile….
Asake, the gifted musician, has made history by being the first Afrobeat artist to amass a sizable following on Instagram.
This accomplishment prompted a wave of excitement on numerous social media sites, with followers and aficionados praising his accomplishment.
Some fans even speculated that Asake may have surpassed Wizkid in terms of fame, making him Nigeria’s most popular artist.
Furthermore, the attention he received went beyond social media. Asake’s talent and hard work were recognized in July 2023 when he was nominated for the coveted Headies award.
Fast forward to September, and he had won several of the prizes for which he had been nominated, including the coveted title of Best New Artist.
