Samuel Ortom, the Ex- governor of Benue State, has praised the appointment of Nyesom Wike and Joseph Utsev as ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Recall that on Monday, President Bola Tinubu performed a ceremony at the Presidential Villa in Abuja’s banquet hall to swear in Wike, Utsev, and 43 other individuals as ministers.
While Utsev, a former Benue Commissioner, is now the Minister of Water Resources, Wike, the recently-departed governor of Rivers State, has been named Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Former Governor Ortom congratulated Wike and Utsev on their appointments in a statement released on Monday by his spokesperson, Terver Akase, saying that both would bring a wealth of experience to their new positions.
Ortom also praised Tinubu for selecting both politicians as members of his cabinet, describing them as the “round pegs in round holes” required to solve Nigerians’ problems.
Wike, in his opinion, was a deserving ally who strengthened the bond between Rivers and his state and supported the Benue people during trying times.
In addition, the former governor said Wike would bring the desired development to the FCT as minister because he is a tenacious, trustworthy, and experienced administrator.
He said that Utsev, who worked for him as the Commissioner for Water Resources and Environment, possesses the necessary skills and abilities to succeed in his new role as Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation.
