Victor Osimhen, the 26-year-old striker for Galatasaray, has responded to accusations of physically assaulting a Turkish journalist following a UEFA Europa League match.
As reported by the Turkish media outlet Posta, the incident occurred late Thursday night in Istanbul as Osimhen and his group were departing from an exclusive venue. Journalist Tolga Bozduman asserted that the confrontation began when photographers attempted to take pictures of the football player.
“When the camera flashes went off, all hell broke loose,” Bozduman claimed. “Osimhen screamed, lunged at me, and punched me in the head when I tried to protect my camera.”
Bozduman also claimed that the footballer attempted to offer him a bribe, saying, “Destroy the footage, I’ll give you money.” When he refused, Bozduman claimed Osimhen issued a threat, stating, “I’ll destroy you.”
Taking to his Instagram story, the Napoli striker who is on loan at Galatasaray shared a famous meme of Ghanaian comedian and TV host Akrobeto Akwasi Boadi laughing sarcastically. The post, notably lacking any caption, has left fans speculating about its intended meaning.
The viral meme, widely recognized for its mocking undertone, has fueled conversations, with many interpreting Osimhen’s post as a subtle jab at his critics or the situation at hand.
As the scandal unfolds, Osimhen’s decision to remain silent—apart from his sarcastic post—has only intensified public curiosity and discussion about the matter.
