Popular Nigerian rapper Erigga has resorted to social media to express his thoughts on parenting practices and their effects on children.
The “Motivation” singer, real name Erhiga Agarivbie, showed a renewed admiration for his parents’ strict upbringing.
Erigga admitted in a series of tweets that he often found his parents’ strictness to be excessive throughout his childhood.
However, with time, he feels that their method could have helped save the lives of many people in the current generation.
“I used to think our parents were sooo strict, but watching these kids today, I think our parents saved our lives,” he wrote.
He emphasised the need of traditional, ‘old school’ parenting approaches, arguing that they instill discipline and develop children into responsible adults.
In other news, Nigerian rapper Erhiga Agarivbie, often known as Erigga, discusses the mixed emotions of having a father who was absent during his childhood but has just emerged with a sense of entitlement.
He claimed that while his father was not involved in his upbringing, he began calling him and making demands as soon as he reached popularity.
Erigga disclosed this on the most recent episode of the Spill With Phyna podcast.
Erigga candidly shared his thoughts on the subject, delving into the perplexing mix of animosity, curiosity, and reluctant acceptance that he is now dealing with as a result of his father’s unexpected involvement in his life.
