Pastor Femi Lazarus, lead minister of Light Nation Church in Abuja, and renowned singer Timi Dakolo have put their recent disagreement behind them.
The pair were previously involved in a social media clash after Dakolo questioned why Pastor Lazarus charged fees for his School of Ministry, despite criticizing gospel artists who request payment for church performances.
Pastor Lazarus responded by clarifying that his program is a structured school, hence the charges. Dakolo, however, stood his ground, noting that gospel musicians also face financial responsibilities and deserve fair compensation for their services.
On Monday evening, Lazarus took to Instagram to announce that he and Dakolo had reconciled. He commended the singer for advocating for fellow gospel artists and acknowledged that he now better understands Dakolo’s perspective.
Their peaceful resolution has been well received by fans, who praised both men for choosing dialogue and unity over division.
Sharing a photo of himself, Dakolo and Pastor Iren, Lazarus captioned, “My brother Timi Dakolo is a music legend, give him his flowers. What a man! He genuinely carries the burdens of musicians.
“His concerns are real. I love you. Better structures will be built. Pain is real. From pulpits to the pew, the pain is real, but we will be fine.
“This generation will not have carryover of pain. Hosts will do better. Guests will do better. We will have a better nation together.”
