    Veteran actress Patience Ozokwo has been awarded an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Theatre and Media Arts.

    The Achievers Networks Academy in the UK presented this honor, also recognizing Yoruba film icons Adebayo Salami and Jide Kosoko for their significant impact on the Nigerian entertainment scene.

    The event took place on Saturday at the Aderinokun Lecture Theatre, University of Lagos, Akoka, with many dignitaries, celebrities, family, and friends in attendance.

    The honorees were recognized for their important contributions to making Nollywood a worldwide success. Their lasting impact features memorable performances, guidance for new talents, and the promotion of African culture through movies.

    Patience Ozokwo, affectionately called “Mama G,” expressed her joy on Instagram by sharing videos from the event. She called the experience surreal, writing:
