A patient has passed away after a man reportedly took off her oxygen mask to pray for her.
She was in Bamenda Regional Hospital in Cameroon.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was arrested and confessed to the act, arguing that oxygen is free.
He claimed to be a Christian and showed no remorse, insisting he was following God’s will.
An Instagram user called towncryer uploaded a video and recounted what happened. They stated, “A young man, who identified himself as a pastor, walked into the hospital and took off a patient’s oxygen mask, leading to the patient’s passing.”
“The poor innocent woman has lungs infection, and couldn’t breathe properly while receiving treatment, so she was on oxygen support.
“This guy walked in and removed her oxygen mask and the drips on her, and started praying, claiming that oxygen is for free.
“She died after few minutes of rapid intervention, despite the attempt of the doctors to save the woman.”
Some persons have blamed the hospital for negligence, questioning how the man was able to have access to a patient.
