In related news, Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has responded to allegations suggesting her involvement in the death of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, widely known as Mohbad.
Mohbad passed away on September 12, 2023, and was interred the following day. Subsequently, on September 21, authorities exhumed his body for an autopsy.
The details surrounding his demise have sparked ongoing controversies.
In a recent episode of the ‘Glass House’ podcast hosted by comedian AY Makun, Iyabo remarked that certain individuals have implied her participation in Mohbad’s death.
The 46-year-old actress conveyed her exasperation regarding these accusations, questioning the rationale behind her advocating for Mohbad’s autopsy if she had any involvement in his death.
Iyabo further clarified that her relationship with Mohbad was not close, having only met him once at a music festival. She characterized him as a “cool boy” who appeared to be facing his own challenges.
“They were even insinuating that maybe I killed Mohbad. I was not around when Mohbad died. I was not close to him. I did not really know him that much. My encounter with him was during One Africa music fest,” she said.
“For the few days that we were together, I just knew that he was a cool boy, had his own thing he was going through and doing his music. If I killed him, then why was I fighting for his body to be exhumed for autopsy? There was a time they said I was paid. They also said I was looking for a political position.”
