Before Monday’s proceedings against President Bola Tinubu’s victory in the presidential election on February 25, 2023, some eminent attorneys have begun to arrive at the Supreme Court complex in Abuja.
According to Gistlover, the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP), and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are all contesting Tinubu’s victory in different Supreme Court lawsuits.
The three petitioners desire that Tinubu’s victory be overturned by the Supreme Court.
Attorneys such as Chief Wole Olanipekun (SAN), the immediate former Chairman of the Body of Benchers, have arrived in court ahead of the planned 9am start time for the hearing.
Leading President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima’s legal team is Olanipekun, who entered the courtroom at around eight in the morning.
Mike Ozekhome (SAN), a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Atiku Abubakar’s legal team, Charles Uwensuyi-Edosomwan (SAN), a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sir Steve Adehi (SAN), a member of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and Chukwuma Majukwu Umeh (SAN), a member of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) legal team, are also present in court.
The APC, Tinubu, and Shettima team’s Prof. Taiwo Osinpitan, SAN, Yusuf Alli, SAN, Babatunde Ogala, SAN, Chris Uche, SAN, Gordy Uche, SAN, and Emeka Etiaba, SAN—all members of the Atiku/PDP legal team—are also present in court.
