Peruzzi Vibez, a famous Nigerian artist, opens up about receiving used clothes as payment for his songwriting collaboration with his former boss, Davido.

In a recent interview with Isbae U on the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast, Peruzzi was asked about reports that Davido rewarded him with previously worn clothing.

These rumors arose from conjecture that Davido had rewarded Peruzzi’s songwriting contributions by gifting him his old, used clothes. Although these rumors appear improbable, they have persisted for years and attracted attention.

“Is it true that when you write Davido’s songs, is it true that he pays you with ‘take this up and down, na once I don wear am’?” IsbaeU asked.

Peruzzi grinned and admitted that this had happened once, but stated that it was no longer the case.

“I’m not going to lie to you, I bin dey run am like that before,” he went on to say.

Bae-U also queried as to why Peruzzi’s scathing remarks tend to trend more on Twitter than his music releases. Peruzzi explained that people value and enjoy sarcastic comments.

In terms of songwriting for Davido, Peruzzi is the creative force behind many of his songs, either written or co-written them.
