The governors of Zamfara, Bauchi, Kano, and the Plateau states have arrived at the Supreme Court in Abuja Nigeria’s capital.
At least seven current governors who were inaugurated in on May 29, 2023, and elected in March of last year are expected to face trials over their governorship elections, with decisions from the supreme court expected soon.
As they wait for the justices of the Supreme Court to arrive and give their decisions, governors Abba Yusuf (Kano), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara) are already seated in the courtroom with their attorneys.
Everyone is waiting impatiently for the five-person panel of Justices to arrive in a few minutes, and the courtroom is extremely full.
Simon Lalong, the former governor of Plateau State, is present in the courtroom.
