- Laura pleads for Annie’s safety after Nigerians criticized her on Young, Famous and African, with actress Ini Edo failing to defend her and cast member Nadia speaking negatively.
Social media influencer Laura Ikeji Kanu has urged friends and acquaintances of Annie Idibia, the wife of renowned Nigerian singer 2Baba, to refrain from participating in the online criticism directed at her by individuals who have never met her.
According to GistLover, Laura’s appeal follows a wave of negative comments aimed at Annie after her appearance on the reality television series Young, Famous and African. Nollywood actress Ini Edo, who also featured in Season 3, did not come to Annie’s defense, while another cast member, Nadia, made disparaging remarks about her during the show.
Instead, Ini referred to Annie in derogatory terms during her diary session, criticizing her for not acknowledging her mistakes.
In an Instagram post on Monday, Laura expressed that Annie is a remarkable individual and implored her friends to avoid joining the online mob in disparaging her amid the unfolding events of the television program.
She wrote, “If you are Annie’s friend and you know her and know that she’s an amazing person, please do not join people who haven’t met her to kick her down. If she had ever been nice to you defend her and where people speak ill of her and if you don’t want to defend her keep mute, do not join them to speak ill of her.
“Reality shows will mess with your head, so if you have known her before the show continue to show her love. let people who haven’t encountered her judge from the show but you, you have met her and she’s your girl, maintain that positive energy. Do not join the negative conversation.”
