Police appended over 100 gay suspects in Delta

The Delta State Police Command on Tuesday broadcast that it detained over 100 gay suspects carrying out a gay wedding ceremony in a hotel in Delta state.

The state police announced that it would parade the suspects soon in a post on its official X (previously Twitter) account.

In a hotel where a gay wedding was taking place, the Delta State Command detained over one hundred gay suspects. To parade the aforementioned suspects, we will shortly go live on Facebook.

The PUNCH reports that since the anti-gay law was signed in 2014, security personnel have detained and paraded people who they believed to be homosexuals.

A brothel in the state’s Okota region was the scene of 10 arrests by the Lagos State Police Command in December 2020, all of whom were thought to be homosexuals.

Earlier in 2018, the state police paraded 57 men for alleged homosexual activities at the Kelly Ann hotel in Egbeda.

Eight alleged homosexuals were detained for alleged gay behavior in a hotel in Isolo, Lagos, in January 2022.

According to The PUNCH, whoever is found guilty of having sex with someone of the same sex will be sentenced to 14 years in prison under the anti-gay law of 2014.
