Police Officially Confirms 86 People Dead In Plateau Attack, 50 Houses Burnt

The Plateau state police command says it has so far confirmed 86 persons dead in the shooting carried out by suspected herdsmen in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The spokesperson of the state command, Mathias Tyopev, said asides the 86 persons killed, six persons were injured while 50 houses were burnt.

‘The figure that we have now is that 86 people lost their lives in the attack, six people injured, 50 houses burnt 15 motorcycles and 12 vehicles were burnt in the attack. ” Tyiopev told Channels TV.

The state government has since declared a dusk to dawn curfew in the area.
