The Lagos State Police Command has detained Obianuju Catherine Udeh nicknamed DJ Switch, a prominent disc jockey in the state, for allegedly assaulting its staff.
According to a police source DJ Switch went to the police in Elemoro, Ajah on Monday, April 15, to report about a guy who allegedly scammed her. According to authorities, the individual was caught on the same day and is still in police custody.
According to the police, DJ Switch was invited yesterday, April 17, to discuss what she wanted, whether the accused should be prosecuted in court or freed on bond, as detaining an accused for more than 48 hours is against the law.
The source alleged that DJ Switch insisted that the only thing she wants is for the accused to do an apology which she will record and then post online which the accused bluntly refused.

At this point, the police decided to take the case to court because both parties were not present.
According to a police source, as the officers were going to transport the accused to court, DJ Switch reportedly blocked the station’s entry and assaulted the female policemen assigned to the case.
She was subsequently detained for impeding police while on duty, resisting arrest, and assaulting officers. The accused was hauled to court and remanded into jail custody.
DJ Switch is presently on her way to Eti-Osa Magistrate Court, where she will face charges of impeding police officers while on duty and assaulting cops.
