Portable Meets Bail Requirements, Kneels To Thank Magistrate

  • Portable, has fulfilled the requirements for his bail after appearing in court at the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
    • The court, led by Magistrate O.L. Oke, approved his bail on Thursday, February 20, with the amount set at N2 million and a surety of the same value.

    Nigerian singer Portable, whose real name is Habeeb Okikiola, has fulfilled the requirements for his bail after appearing in court at the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

    The court, led by Magistrate O.L. Oke, approved his bail on Thursday, February 20, with the amount set at N2 million and a surety of the same value.

    Portable was charged with five offenses: conspiracy, assault, possession of weapons, and disorderly behavior. He denied all charges.

    The situation started when the singer voluntarily went to the Lagos State Criminal Investigation Department after being declared wanted by the Ogun State Police.

    He was later moved to the Ogun State Police headquarters and then taken to court.

    After he met his bail conditions around 4:30 p.m., Portable knelt down in tears to thank the magistrate.

    In other news, Nigerian street artist Habeeb Okikiola, widely recognized by his stage name Portable, has been granted bail.

    The contentious musician appeared in court today, where the Isabo Magistrate Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, approved his bail. He faced five charges, including conspiracy, assault, and possession of weapons, as well as conduct likely to cause harm.

    Portable entered a plea of not guilty to the allegations. His attorney, Oluwatoyin Ayodele, requested bail on the grounds that the artist expressed remorse and had gained insight from his experiences.

    Magistrate O L Oke set the bail at N2 million, requiring one surety of equivalent value, and postponed the trial until March 5.

    Earlier this week, Gistlover reported that the singer had been declared wanted by the police, who accused him of conspiracy, serious assault, armed violence, public disturbance, and attempted murder through the enlistment of armed thugs.
