Prankster Zfancy has been released from police custody after being arrested a week ago

Prankster Zion Ubani, also known as Zfancy, has been released by police one week after being arrested.

According to a police statement issued on Wednesday night, July 10, he was released on bail to the executives of the Practitioners of Content Creation, Skit-Making, and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN).

Zfancy was reportedly detained at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, at an apartment in Wuye, Abuja, following hoax videos accusing him of awful acts, including rape.

Police announced in a statement on Thursday, July 4, that the prankster had been apprehended in connection with one of his pranks. The hoax videos were ultimately revealed to be scripted.

According to the statement, Zfancy was sent off with a harsh warning against pulling any pranks that might cause public unrest.

The police statement read:

“Earlier today, 10th of July, 2024, at the Force Headquarters, Mr. Zion Ubani, aka Zfancy, was released on bail to the Excos of the Practitioners of Content Creation, Skit-Making and Influencers Guild of Nigeria (PCCSIGN).

The delegation was led by Mr. Tokoni Peter Igoin, Special Assistant to the President on ICT Development and Digital Innovation.

Recall that Mr. Ubani was arrested by the NPF-National Cybercrime Centre over prank videos accusing him of heinous crimes, including rape. The videos were later found to be scripted.

He has been warned to avoid pranks that could cause public unrest. While encouraging positive creativity amongst the youthful populace, the NPF urges content creators to responsibly use social media and avoid spreading misinformation that may incite public disorder.”

In other news, Itegbe Irene Awele, a Nigerian student, takes costume day to another level by recreating the mugshot of controversial lifestyle blogger Bobrisky.

It should be noted that Bobrisky was caught and detained by the EFCC months ago for naira mutilation, following which he pled guilty and received six months in jail.

In a recent development, Irene, who appeared to be a fan of Bobriksy, copied his EFCC mugshot for her favored costume day attire.

Bobrisky was charged with ‘naira mutilation’, while Irene was charged with ‘alleged BBL’.

Sharing the post on the X platform, the student explained why she used EFEC instead than EFCC in her picture to make a few changes.

“EFEC because quite frankly I’m not ready to do #freeawele😭,” she captioned the post.

Her costume day out has since elicited hilarious reactions from social media users who found it creative while other worry about her impending arrest.
