President Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo this morning played host to the Super Eagles at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, urging them to bring the trophy back home.
President Buhari asked the Nigerian team to play a clean and fair game but bring the World Cup trophy back home. He said that the team is very young but encouraged them to display the Nigerian spirit and their knowledge to a great advantage over their opponents.
The players are expected to leave the country today for London in preparation towards their match against England at the Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening, in another pre-World Cup friendly.
The match against England’s Three Lions is expected to take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. From London, the delegation will fly into Bad Tatzmannsdorf, a city in Austria where they will spend eight days at the world –renowned Avita Resort before flying to Russia.
In-between the final camping in Austria, the team will play a final pre-World Cup friendly against the Czech Republic at the Rudolf Tonn Stadium.
Meanwhile new Super Eagles jersey reportedly hits record 3 Million Pre-Orders.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) disclosed on its website that NIKE had received three million pre-orders of the new jerseys designed for the 21st FIFA World Cup, which would take place in Russia next month.
