After intense pressure and criticisms, President Muhammadu Buhari has decided to visit the troubled areas in Nigeria where lives and properties have been destroyed. Earlier yesterday, President Muhammadu Buhari paid a visit to Taraba, one of the states that recently witnessed violence, for the purpose of on-the-spot assessment of the situation.
The president and his entourage were warmly received as they landed at the airport.
The president’s official car was pictured being airlifted in a NAF C130 plane some hours ago as he continues his visit to Benue, Yobe, Zamfara and Rivers states.

The president will also visit other states affected by terrorism, armed brigandage, and communal violence including Yobe, Taraba, Zamfara and Rivers. Mr Buhari has been criticised by many Nigerians for not visiting these states despite his government’s failure to protect scores of people who were killed in the violence.
The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Monday.
Adesina said Buhari would begin his journey with a trip to Taraba State on Monday; and that he would subsequently visit Benue, Yobe, Zamfara and Rivers states. The presidential spokesman, however, did not disclose when the trips to the four states will take place.
The statement read, “In view of recent terrorist attacks, criminal activities and communal clashes in some states leading to tragic loss of lives and kidnapping of 110 schoolgirls, President Muhammadu Buhari immediately tasked the Armed Forces and other security agencies to compile comprehensive reports on the various incidents.
