Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to singer Tems on her recent victory at the Grammy Awards.
It is noteworthy that Tems secured the award for Best African Music Performance for her song “Love Me Jeje” during the 67th Grammy Awards, which took place in Los Angeles on February 2nd, 2025.
Tems’ achievement is particularly remarkable, as she triumphed over other prominent Nigerian artists, including Yemi Alade, Asake, Davido, and Burna Boy.
This accolade also represents Tems’ second Grammy win, following her earlier recognition in 2023 for Best Melodic Rap Performance for her contribution to the track “Wait for U.”
In response to this accomplishment, President Tinubu utilized the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his pride in Tems’ success.
The President further acknowledged the achievements of other Nigerian artists nominated for this year’s Grammys, emphasizing that their successes serve as a source of inspiration for all Nigerians.
“Congratulations to @temsbaby on winning the Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance, “Love Me Jeje.” I am proud of her accomplishments and those of Nigerian origin who was nominated for the Grammy awards. Their achievements continue to inspire all Nigerians. Congratulations!” he wrote.
