President Tinubu pays tribute to late singer Onyeka Onwenu

President Bola Tinubu has sent his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late Ms Onyeka Onwenu.

This is stated in a statement made on Wednesday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity).

He mentioned that Ms. Onwenu was a singer, songwriter, actress, journalist, activist, and politician.

It stated that President Tinubu mourned the death of “the Queen of Songs, whose edifying and mellifluous rendition, ‘One Love’, in the 1990s evoked a fervour of fellowship and harmony.”

The President recalled the late musical icon’s numerous artistic interventions in promoting the public welfare, highlighting her legendary collaboration with King Sunny Ade on ‘Wait for Me,’ a lyrical family planning campaign in the 1980s.

President Tinubu commemorated the life of the multifaceted and exceptionally gifted artist who pursued every aspect of artistic endeavor and expression, giving joy and laughter to many.

He expressed his condolences to the entertainment industry, the Imo State Government, and the deceased star’s numerous fans for this immeasurable loss.

President Tinubu prayed for the deceased artist’s soul to rest in peace and that she find a place where the music never fades and there is ‘Dancing in the Sun’.

The President noted that Ms. Onwenu’s legacy lives on via her immortal masterpieces.

In other news, Chinenyenwa Desire Okoebor, also known as Chichi, a reality TV celebrity and former stripper who has boasted about setting the pace in the strip dancing industry.

In a post on her social media page, the Big Brother Naija 2022 housemate celebrated her two-year anniversary on the show and stated that she had paved the way for other strippers to succeed.

Chichi, who is 22, praised herself for “inspiring every girl from a difficult past to see a future full of promise.”

The young lady congratulated herself, expressed gratitude, and thanked her followers for their continuous backing.

Reflecting on her journey, Chichi said: “I walked so that other strippers can fly. Inspiring every girl from a difficult past to see a future full of promise. To my incredible Champs, Today marks a special milestone – two years of unwavering support, love, and loyalty. I’m overwhelmed with gratitude as I reflect on the journey we’ve shared so far.

“Your enthusiasm, encouragement, and dedication have meant the world to me. Through every up and down, you’ve stood by me, cheering me on and pushing me to reach new heights. Your energy is infectious, and your kindness inspires me daily.

“Two years of memories, laughter, and growth – I’m honored to have shared them with each and every one of you. Here’s to many more adventures together! Thank you for being my rock, my motivation, and my Champs. I love and appreciate you all more than words can express. Thank you for loving me.”
