President Trump Convicted For Using His Foundation for Political Purposes President Trump Convicted For Using His Foundation for Political Purposes

Unites State of American president, Donald Trump was sentenced Thursday by a court in New York to pay $2million USD in damages for using his foundation as a political instrument in a friendly settlement.

The New York state attorney attacked the foundation and its directors in June 2016, claiming that Donald Trump had used the organization for personal purposes and not for charity.

Although the US President has repeatedly assured that he will not compromise on this issue, he has concluded, together with three of his children (Donald Jr, Eric and Ivanka) an amicable agreement with Prosecutor Letitia James to end the procedure, according to documents in the file.

The final part of this deal was a charity gala held in January 2016 in Iowa.

The event was, in fact, managed by his campaign team. The US $ 2.8 million raised at the gala only went through the foundation, used as an instrument of Donald Trump’s campaign.

While the money was eventually donated to Veterans Support Associations, the prosecutor denounced a mix of politics and humanitarian issues, with Donald Trump publicly demonstrating his generosity.

To punish Donald Trump’s failure to fulfill his duties as a Trustee of the Foundation, New York Supreme Court Justice Saliann Scarpulla sentenced the President of the United States to pay two million dollars damages.

The funds will be donated to eight charities, said the services of the prosecutor James in a statement.

“The prosecutor of New York deliberately denatures this agreement, for political purposes,” denounced Thursday the US president in a statement posted on Twitter.

“I’m the only person I know, maybe the only person in the world who can give a lot of money to charity, and be attacked by New York state politicians,” he said. Is it forbidden?

According to prosecutor James, the US president “admits to personally using the funds of the foundation”.

According to the judgment, Donald Trump has made several commitments to the Court “so that the conduct that gave rise to this action will not happen again in the future”.

The foundation was officially dissolved in December 2018.
