Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Makes First Public Appearance in Nigeria, Kicks Off 3-Day Tour

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have arrived in Nigeria for a three-day stay promoting the Invictus Games.

The royal couple’s visit, which began on Friday, May 10, is a watershed moment in their campaign for injured and ill service members and veterans.

The Invictus Games, created by Prince Harry, serve as a beacon of hope for military veterans who have endured adversity in the line of duty.

Notably, the visit is significant since it includes Nigerian troops who have been engaged in a 14-year fight against Islamic militants.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle arrived in Nigeria, they were greeted with sincere excitement at Lightway Academy in Abuja, which is funded by their Archewell Foundation.

The couple’s arrival, adorned with a brilliant welcome banner proclaiming “We Are Honoured To Have You!” and accompanied by a mesmerising performance by local singers and dancers, prompted delight and admiration from the community.

During their visit, Meghan Markle, 42, shared lovely updates on her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

The couple’s interactions with academy pupils were characterised by warmth and real connection, and they kindly accepted beaded necklaces as gifts of gratitude.

In a heartwarming exchange, Prince Harry, aged 39, engaged with children aged two to five in a kindergarten class, where he inquired about their favorite activities.

With beaming smiles lighting up their faces, the royal couple embraced the spirit of friendship and celebration, fostering a sense of unity and empowerment among the students gathered at the school.

A video capturing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s arrival was shared by The Punch via its X page.
