Veteran dancehall artist Augustine Ahmedu Obiabo, popularly known as Blackface, has advised Nigerians taking part in the ongoing nationwide protest to conduct peacefully.
He pointed out that Nigerians are suffering, thus the protest is justified.
He did, however, urge the demonstrators to be concerned about their safety, emphasizing that their lives are valuable.
The ‘Hard Life’ singer also cautioned demonstrators against destroying or vandalising properties.
On his social media page, Blackface wrote: “My people, I know things are rough and tough and yes, we deserve better from our politicians in power enriching themselves while we, the people, have very little to get by!
“As we protest, please stay safe, as your life is important, and don’t go destroying people’s properties.”
Nigerian social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, also known as Verydarkman, has expressed worries over the recent #EndBadGovernance and Hunger Dey demonstrations.
The protests, which began with a high turnout on the first day, have allegedly resulted in fierce fights and disorderly movements in critical sites around Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
In an Instagram post, Verydarkman encouraged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to handle the rising crisis as soon as possible.
He advised that President Tinubu take quick steps, like as lowering the petrol price to N150, to relieve rising public dissatisfaction while looking for long-term answers to economic problems.
