In other news, Tana Adelana, an actress and movie producer, has urged President Bola Tinubu to address Nigerians’ rising hardships.
Adelana used social media to beg President Tinubu to “protect the citizens of our dear nation Nigeria.”
She emphasized that the continuous protests are not intended to provoke, but rather to highlight the pain and sorrow that has engulfed the country.
“Things are difficult for the masses. We can’t afford food anymore, there’s no money, and the so-called minimum wage can only buy 56 litres of diesel! We can’t even afford petrol! Health care is bad! I mean Zero! Government schools are substandard! We don’t have power to even aid innovation and businesses! The situation is bad! bad!! bad!!!” Adelana stated.
She defended the freedom to protest, emphasizing that protests have remained nonviolent and encouraging police not to intervene with force. “Protest is our right and so far, it has been peaceful, so the police should not bother or teargas peaceful protesters,” she added.
She added; “We are suffering and everyone is feeling it, the least you can do is; allow us to voice out our grievances and listen. Nigeria belongs to us all.”
