Award-winning rappers M.I. Abaga, A-Q, Ice Prince, Jesse Jagz, Loose Kaynon, and BlaqBonez are featured in a new music cypher released by Chocolate City, an indigenous urban record label in Africa, to commemorate its 20th anniversary.
Founded in 2005 by attorney Audu Maikori, Chocolate City is a notable record label that actively supports the expansion of the music business. Numerous musicians, including well-known figures like Young John, Ckay, BlaqBonez, and others, have been signed by the organization with success.
Rap music enthusiasts and fans were taken aback by the music cypher that was made public on January 8. The six rap artists’ collaboration created compelling songs that excited listeners and sparked conversations.
In addition to commemorating Chocolate City’s 20 years of existence, the cypher showcases their ongoing legacy in Nigerian Hip Hop, paying tribute to Mohbad.
The record label has previously worked together on a 2019 Martell Cypher called “LAMB,” which included Loose Kaynon, A-Q, M.I. Abaga, and BlaqBonez. This is not the first time they will release Cypher.
