Rapper Illbliss Shares Why Praying For Nigeria Might Be A Waste Of Time

  • Illbliss, a popular Nigerian hip-hop artist, shared his views on the effectiveness of praying for Nigeria.
  • He recounted an experience during a morning mass where an elderly man advised him against praying for the country.
  • This encounter prompted Illbliss to reflect on the ongoing struggles faced by Nigeria.
  • Popular Nigerian hip-hop artist Tobechukwu Melvin Ejiofor, better known as Illbliss, has sparked conversations after revealing why he believes praying for Nigeria may be futile. The rapper shared his experience during a recent morning mass, where an elderly man discouraged him from praying for the country.

According to Illbliss, he was reciting the Prayer for Nigeria during the service when the elderly man approached him and stated that praying for the nation was a waste of valuable prayer time and could even be seen as mocking God. The statement left the musician deep in thought about the reality of the country’s struggles.

Nigeria has been facing numerous challenges, including economic hardship, insecurity, and poor governance. Many citizens turn to prayer as a source of hope and strength. However, the perspective shared by the elderly man suggests that rather than relying on divine intervention, real change may require more direct action from leaders and citizens alike.

Following the encounter, Illbliss took to social media to express his admiration for Nigerians who continue to survive despite the difficulties. He acknowledged their resilience and perseverance in the face of adversity, recognizing that navigating life in Nigeria often feels like an uphill battle.

His statement has since sparked discussions online, with some agreeing that prayer alone cannot fix Nigeria’s deep-rooted issues, while others believe faith remains a powerful tool for hope and transformation.

Regardless of differing opinions, Illbliss’ remarks highlight the frustration many Nigerians feel about the state of the nation. His message serves as a reminder of the resilience of the people and the urgent need for real change in governance and leadership.

On his X handle, he wrote, “Shoutout to every one surviving Nigeria.

I was in morning mass today reciting ‘Prayer for Nigeria” and the elderly man next to me smiled afterwards and said to me ‘That’s a total waste of prayer time with God. You can’t Mock God. ”
