Armed men kidnaps RCCG Pastor’s wife, two others in Kwara

Kidnappers of the wife of a Redeemed Christian Church of God’s pastor, Mrs Blessing Ajiboye, have demanded N100m from her family as ransom to free her

At around 9 p.m. on Thursday, Blessing, the wife of Senior Pastor Johnson Ajiboye of the RCCG, was kidnapped from her store in Elerinjare, a sleepy town in the Kwara State’s Ifelodun Local Government Area.

The community was invaded by the unidentified gunmen, who were around seven in number. They began shooting randomly before kidnapping the pastor’s wife.

According to information obtained by our correspondent, the woman was kidnapped along with her two shop employees, who have since been released.

The kidnappers contacted the family on Friday night and demanded a N100m ransom, a community leader told our correspondent on Saturday.

According to the most recent information, the kidnappers contacted the pastor’s family on Friday night and demanded N100m in order to release the woman.

“I wonder how they anticipated the pastor would acquire such wealth. Even the community would have trouble coming up with that much money, the community leader said.

The pastor described what happened, saying that the shooters emerged from the nearby bush next to the Community Primary School.

“No money was touched by the shooters, and they did not take any. After removing the baby strapped to her back, they only grabbed my 34-year-old wife, Blessing Ajiboye. They threw the infant to the ground, he claimed.

Additionally, it was reported that a neighbor who was allegedly sitting close to the shop and who was reportedly hit by a bullet was reportedly receiving medical care at a private hospital.
