Actress and filmmaker Titilola Ajayi has articulated her motivations for premiering her film, ‘Mr. and Mrs. Parker,’ at the esteemed Enish Restaurant located on Old Kent Road in London.
In a conversation with Saturday Beats, she expressed, “I feel incredibly happy and immensely proud of myself for this achievement.
Premiering my movie Mr. and Mrs. Parker in London was not just a milestone but a carefully planned strategy to expand my fan base beyond the shores of Nigeria.
Nollywood has evolved into a global force, and as filmmakers, we have a responsibility to take our stories to the world, showcasing our culture, talents and unique narratives on international platforms.
Seeing the positive reception and the love from audiences in London reinforces my belief that Nollywood has no boundaries. This is just the beginning, and I am thrilled about the journey ahead.”
Regarding the necessity for Nollywood to extend its narratives beyond Nigeria, Ajayi remarked, “Nollywood has grown into one of the largest film industries in the world, and taking its stories beyond Nigeria helps solidify its place on the global stage.
“By showcasing African culture, traditions, and narratives internationally, Nollywood can reach a more diverse audience and gain wider recognition.”
Notable Nollywood figures such as Kunle Afod, Abiodun Adebanjo, Lola Faduri, and Beriola were among the attendees at the event.
