During the Paris Fashion Week, Rema, the Nigerian Afrobeats sensation, impressed the audience at Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Spring-Summer Show.
Meanwhile, his popular track ‘Calm Down’ was receiving accolades at the 2024 ASCAP London Music Awards.
The song was honored with the prestigious Song of the Year and Top Streaming Song awards. The talented co-writers and co-producers of the song, Michael Hunter (aka London) and Andre Vibez, were also recognized as winners.
With these wins, Rema has now accumulated three awards from the American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers (ASCAP), making him the Nigerian/African artiste with the highest number of ASCAP awards.
In fact, Rema has become the most decorated African artist in 2024, having already won six awards. Among his achievements are the Trends Award in Brazil, iHeartRadio Music Award, ASCAP Pop Music Award, and two ASCAP London Music Awards.
Notably, ‘Calm Down’ recently made history by becoming the first Afrobeats song to surpass 1 billion on-demand streams in the US.
