Yung6ix, US-based Nigerian Hip Hop artiste, has shared a video to give some clarity as to why American rap star, Rick Ross didn’t link up with rappers during his visit to Lagos.
Recall that in April 2022, the Maybach Music boss flew to Nigeria for his Rick Ross Live In Lagos concert.
Rick However, after he arrived the commercial capital, he met mostly comedians, actors and influencers, with only one rapper among the bunch.
In a video Yung6ix posted, he replied those who raised questions over Ross’ failure to have a meet and greet with Nigerian rappers.
Yung6ix who often refers to himself as the one true rapper, suggested that it was because of his absence that Ross snubbed every other rap artiste.
He said; ”There is no way I would say this that it won’t be offensive to somebody. But I don’t care. People were saying Rick Ross didn’t acknowledge any Nigerian rapper when he came to Nigeria.
Did you not know that the only Nigerian rapper was in America?’
Watch him speak below:
Meanwhile, indigenous rapper, Sodiq Abubakar Yusuf, also known CDQ, had taken to his Twitter page in April to refute reports that no rapper was invited to the concert.
His tweet followed MI Abaga and Ycee’s rants that organisers deliberately chose not to invite any Hip Hop musician to the Ross event.
CDQ had written; ”I’m sure most of us would get invitations to the event but would rather be asking for something else. And FYI I was invited to the event by Belaire directly from America 🇺🇸 and I’m sure they must have checked my catalog from 2013 till date cos I never asked for it ”
So just know when God’s grace wants to locate u e no dey look wether u be iBiLe rapper or English rappest… So they invited the only Rapper they feel it’s worth it and that’s CDQ 🔥 Woss ✌️ Alexa play me “Oobi by CDQ””
