Rivers Cross Over Night Attack: On The Run, Don Waney’s Brother Killed
late Don Waney’s younger brother, Oluchi Igwedibia aka Obatosu, the Field Commander of the murderous gang who carried out a brutal murder of 23 persons in Omoku, Rivers State, on Jan. 1, 2018, was killed by security operatives at Sabo Iyakpe, Etsako West in Edo State on Sunday, January 28, 2018.
Oluchi, who was among the 32 Cultists declared wanted by the State Security Council in Rivers State, fled Omoku town (Rivers) and went to Ughelli (Delta) to reside. He then later rented an apartment in Edo State, four days ago (Jan. 24) as part of his plan to avoid arrest.
However Don Waney’s younger brother who hid in the ceiling after DSS operatives who called the Army for support stormed his new hideout, engaged the security operatives in a shootout and was killed in the gun battle.
Recall that notorious kidnapper and militant leader, Don Waney, who was fingered in the killings in Omoku, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area was killed in a joint operation by operatives of the Nigerian Army and the Department of State Services.
It was gathered that Waney was killed in a community in Imo State, which shared a border with Rivers State.
He was reportedly killed by soldiers and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), along with two of his lieutenants: Ikechukwu Adiele and Lucky Ode.
The body of Johnson, Adiele and Ode were at the 6 Division of the Nigerian Army, Port Harcourt, by the outgoing General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the division, Maj.-Gen. Enobong Udoh, who was accompanied by Rivers Director of DSS, Mr. Tosin Ajayi, and Rivers Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed.
Udoh said: Intense surveillance activities on him (Johnson) and his gang by the DSS, Rivers State Command, revealed that after committing the atrocities, he relocated to a neighbourhood within Enugu Town in Enugu State, where he rented an apartment and started living among unsuspecting neighbours within the community.
