Following the murder and beheading of Bako Angbashim, a divisional police officer for Rivers State Police Command, the police have made a significant move into Ahoada in an effort to find the murderers.
This afternoon, the team headed by the state’s police commissioner, Nwonyi Emeka, arrived in the neighborhood and immediately started a parade of encouragement for the officers.
Bako was killed and beheaded by cultists on Friday, escalating the threat level in Ahoada East communities.
In Odumude Community, an area known for cult-related activities, of Ahoada East Local Government Area, the cultists ambushed Bako and killed him there.
Following the development, it has been reported that there is an uneasy calm in Odumude, Odumereni, Odemusoma and Ihugbogo, Odieke and other communities of Ahoada East.
However, attempts to contact Barr Ben Eke, the Ahoada East LGA’s Chief Security Officer and Local Government Chairman, proved fruitless.
Though CP. Emeka personally moved into the area with a strong display of force, inspiring the Ahoada Police Division’s officers and men to be self-assured and committed to fighting crime.
In a planned show of force, Emeka promised that the command would as soon as possible raid local criminal hideouts in order to bring those responsible for SP Bako’s murder to justice.
