The Department of State Services agents have detained six suspected members of cults who are thought to have participated in the cult killings in Ogun State’s Sagamu region.
According to reports, they were taken into custody at the home of Hon. Damilare Bello, a member of the Ogun State House of Assembly.
You may remember that last week, members of the Eiye and Aiye Cult groups in the town fought each other for supremacy, which resulted in many deaths.
According to allegations, the lawmaker gave the alleged cultists a place to live.
According to sources, those detained include Debbo Animashaun, Ismaila Onitire, Adewale Otesanya, Tobi Owoade, Damilare Bello Mohammed, aka DRE, and Bamidele Saheed.
The suspects were detained on the legislator’s property by a team of security personnel during a sting operation after receiving a tip and are been questioned right now.
According to sources, the suspects had many dangerous weapons on them, including guns.
Remember that the DSS detained Hon. Bello for organizing the violent demonstration against the Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) naira redesign policy in Sagamu in February of this year?
About 10 banks and other public facilities were damaged during the protest by irate youths.
