The Joint Security Task Force operating in the LGA has freed no less than 33 hostages who had been abducted in Alkaleri Local Government Area of Bauchi State.
A few days ago, gunmen abducted them and took them into the forest while they waited for the families to pay a ransom.
The joint security taskforce, however, engaged the bandits on the orders of the LGA-born governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, and successfully secured the safe release of all 33 of the abducted victims.
On Friday night, security personnel in Yalwan Duguri, the governor’s hometown, handed over the 33 kidnapped victims to Bala Mahmoud, the caretaker chairman of the Alkaleri LGA.
Mahmoud praised the security organizations for their quick response to the incident that resulted in the release of the captives.
The Caretaker Chairman promised that before taking any further action, all 33 of the kidnapped victims would be examined by doctors to make sure they were in excellent health.
