Senator Halliru Dauda Jika, the New Nigeria Peoples Party’s (NNPP) candidate for governor of Bauchi State in the 2023 elections, has formally rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I don’t expect anything short of what I was saying today,” Jika remarked after receiving his APC membership card in the state’s Kafin Madaki ward of the Ganjuwa local government. “.
“All APC members in Bauchi State will now come together, harmonise and strategize, fuse together as one solid entity ahead of the 2027 elections so that we will emerge victorious in Bauchi State,” Jika told his supporters who were present to witness his official return to the APC.
“I don’t expect anything short of what I’m saying today,” he continued. “This is a homecoming; this is my ward, Kafin Mafarki; it is my support base, it is my base. The APC is entering a new era in Bauchi State as a result of my return to the party.
“The state of Bauchi has always been a revolutionary one, as I said earlier in Hausa. It is not the time for politics right now; instead, it is time for us to rethink our plans, band together, and stand as one so that the APC will have an easy time winning the state of Bauchi in 2027, insha’Allah.
Malam Ango Abdullahi, the Kafin Mafarki APC ward chairman, said attempts by some party forces to stop the former NNPP candidate’s return to APC had failed earlier while handing Jika the party’s membership card.
Abdullahi declared he was willing to resign as the APC ward party chairman in order to guarantee Jika’s receipt of the party membership card.
According to him, Jika’s rejoining the APC will increase the party’s self-assurance and contribute to its success in the state and across the nation.
