Two Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidates have emerged following a parallel primaries held by two factions of the party in Ogun state.
Daily Trust reports that the Sikirullahi Ogundele-led faction, backed by the party’s national leadership, produced Ladi Adebutu as its governorship candidate at its primary held at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library.
The chairman of the PDP panel, Mike Williams announced Adebutu as winner of the poll with 2,369 votes. However, the other faction of the party led Bayo Dayo, held its own governorship primary at the party’s secretariat, IBB Boulevard Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta. The Dayo-led faction produced Adeleke Shittu as its governorship candidate having polled 1,979 votes.
