Daniel Regha, a controversial figure on Twitter, expressed his thoughts about the debut album of Nigerian musician Shallipopi.
In the contentious tweet, Regha expressed his opinion that “Yahoo boys” and marijuana users were the target audience for Shallipopi’s debut album, “Presido La Pluto.”
Regha acknowledged that the record had some incredible rhythms, but he did not hold back when he called the lyrical content “a complete zero.”
He also called attention to the song “Iyo’s” lack of originality, claiming that it sampled Fabo Mo’s “Itendo” by Shallipopi.
Regha took comfort in the fact that he preferred the song “Jungle.” He meekly said, “No offence,” concluding his outburst on Twitter and suggesting that his remarks were his own just his personal viewpoint, despite the harshness of his criticism.
In his words: “Shallipopi’s debut album (Presido La Pluto) is a 1/10; The album is made for yahoo boys & weed smokers. The beats were very catchy, but lyrically speaking the songs are a zero.
“Furthermore, in the track “lyo”, he kinda sampled “Itendo”, a song by Fabomo who’s another popular Edo artiste. The only manageable track off the album is Jungle. No offense.”
